A special thank you to the Vero Beach Rotary Club for their continued support of Gifford Middle School! 💻🐯 Through their generosity, our students were rewarded with 4 HP laptops and 14 tablets to help encourage and inspire student success. We truly appreciate our amazing community partners! ✨

🧮🐯 Our GMS Mathlete Team competed today at Dr. Moore’s Magnificent Mathlete Competition!

We are so proud of our students for representing Gifford Middle School with teamwork, determination, and strong problem-solving skills. Great job, Tigers! ✨👏

Students will keep their Chromebooks and chargers over the summer and are encouraged to use them for reading and completing iReady lessons during the summer months.

Please remember that these devices are intended for educational purposes only and should not be used for gaming or other non-school-related activities. Any personal use should take place on a separate personal device.

Families are asked to review the attached documents regarding Chromebook expectations and free Wi-Fi locations available throughout the county.

Thank you for your continued support in helping students properly care for their devices and ensuring they are returned at the start of next school year.

Please note: Current 8th grade students will also keep their Chromebooks over the summer. However, if your child will not be attending an SDIRC high school, the Chromebook and charger must be returned to the school ASAP

Today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our future outdoor classroom " Wise Open Spaces" created to promote hands-on learning, creativity, collaboration, and meaningful connections beyond the traditional classroom setting. This exciting new space will give students innovative opportunities to explore, discover, and grow in an engaging outdoor environment designed to spark curiosity and inspire learning. Thank you to our community partners and supporters who are helping make this vision a reality for our students! 🐯

🏆🐯 Last night we celebrated an incredible year of athletics at our End-of-Year Sports Banquet! It was a wonderful evening recognizing the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of all of our student-athletes. 💪✨ A huge thank you to our amazing GPAC for making the evening so beautiful and special for our athletes and families. Your support is truly appreciated! 💛👏

Mrs. Hyde’s students brought engineering, coding, and creativity to life this week with an epic LEGO Spike Prime Battle Bot Challenge! Students worked collaboratively to design, build, code, test, and improve their own battle robots before facing off in the arena. From strategic builds to quick problem-solving under pressure, they showed incredible perseverance, innovation, and teamwork every step of the way.

Mr. Thimmer's Weekly Update: Week of 5/11/26

🍎✨ We have been so spoiled this week! Our teachers and staff definitely felt the love during Teacher Appreciation Week! ✨🍎 Wednesday we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast donated by Central Assembly along with a “Stock the Lounge” surprise from our GPAC! ☕🍪 Thursday featured a fantastic coffee bar and pastries, and Friday wrapped up the week with delicious subs from Surf Subs! 🥪🎉 A huge thank you to our amazing GPAC and all of our community partners who helped make this week so special for our staff. Your kindness and support mean so much! 🐯💛

Our Biology students are using the ViewSonic Lab to collaborate and sharpen their test-taking strategies! 💡 Working together, thinking critically, and building confidence as they prepare for success! 🐯

Day 1 and 2 of teacher appreciation week were a hit! 🎉 Monday kicked things off with a wonderful breakfast, and Tuesday brought delicious tacos 🌮 plus Kona Ice graciously treated our staff to a sweet treat!

Our Flag Football team took a moment at halftime to honor our amazing 8th graders for their hard work and dedication. We’re proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next! 🎉👏
