GMS Students learning on Guardian Lagoon Day

On Saturday, October 5th, fifteen GMS students and Mrs. Sleeper attended their first Lagoon Guardians lab day at the ORCA Citizen Science Center. Students rotated through lab stations to learn about the Indian River Lagoon. They tested water for dissolved oxygen, nitrates, pH levels, and salinity levels. They identified marine animals that could live at different salinity levels. They used goPros to interview each other about the importance of the Indian River Lagoon. Finally, they used "taste" to determine pH levels and made safety posters for the ORCA Lab.
